My reasons for assuming that is not just because the show's cast is primarily male; but because, for Aichi, he is incredibly focused on gaining the acknowledgement of Kai Toshiki. It borders on a crush to the point that, in an early episode of season 1, when Aichi was disappointed by Kai's absence in the local card shop, another character described him as 'looking like he had been stood up by his girlfriend'.
